Completed in 2017, House Van Schouwenburg was a project taken on by Deter to perform 3 major tasks: extending the private patio, extending the house’s entrance portal and lastly, an interior revamp including the stone pavers and kitchen layout. The project was realised through a marriage of glass, steel and natural stone - all creating beautiful and seamless extensions and renovations to the one storey house.

In keeping with the client’s brief, Deter Architects employed the use of glass in both the entrance portal and patio extension in order to blur the boundaries between the house’s interior and exterior spaces and thereby allowing the living room to seamlessly live out onto the outside spaces.
