A shopping complex in collaboration with Verdoorn Architects and Interior Design, The Reeds Shopping Centre is an exercise is cost efficient modular design.

Based on the portal frame typology commonly associated with a traditional warehouse, the structure allows for customised appropriation of the spaces by the tenants in order to allow for maximum efficiency within companies. Courtyard spaces are generated through gaps in the portal frame which are allocated to restaurant tenants in order to maximize the social experience of the space.

Shading elements and horizontal lines are introduced on the public facade to bring the structure down to a human scale, whilst the service end of the complex uses materiality to break the structure down into a pleasantly experienced size for people arriving or driving past the building.
